How to publish my e-book?

I am preparing to write my first e-book in Finance, I have been looking for publishing software free, but I am confused about where to start! Do I start writing my book with the word Microsoft and promote the book through a page I'm building web? or go to Lulu.com (I hear so many problems many have with this company), please can someone (who is not affiliated with any publisher) I get real honest. Also, if you publish my book through Lulu.com mail I can promote the book too? Is it just me or download POD serve too? Response. Thanks

Wow. Hey, congratulations. Not everyone has the courage to face the publishing industry as you. The thing is: why stop at an eBook? If you are quite saying he wanted to test the waters and try to see that the situation is well in the market?
