If you shop at Sainsbury, s I unwittingly contributing to Labour Party funds?
Lord Sainsbury was in the news recently, and the idea I thought if I can buy in Sainsbury's, what percentage of my expenses would be used to support the Labour party? Do any of the other Affiliate supermarkets, either directly or indirectly to a political party? If so what?
Yes Part of what you pay for your purchase supports the party Labour. The way our political parties are funded means that whatever you do, some of the money finds its way into their coffers. Many of our services to employ union members pay a tax policy for the Labor Party, and the shareholders of many companies support the conservatives and the far right. Marks & Spencer supporting organizations that further the State of Israel. And I'm a little dubious about the political affiliations of my media. Here's one more thought. If you give some money for the Conservative Party (with or without a promise attached), they spend most of the same promotion of the party through the media. Most of this ends up paying the salaries of the media, many of whom are union members with a share policy. So even donations to the Conservatives Labour support!
