I've heard people buying medicine during the trip from Canada and another country long term and I see business advice against it. Someone showed me a drug Singulair (by Merck) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montelukast) and it appears that cost much to buy in the U.S., but relatively cheaper abroad. The drug was (Singulair) also appear to be made by a subsidiary of Merck why not be assumed to be safe. How can a company say that the drugs manufactured outside the U.S. by its members (or Joint Venture, or whatever) is not safe. If they they say, are not confessing that sell dangerous drugs for the rest of the world? Someone has to pay the cost of R & D, but the reason given by these companies drugs manufactured outside the country seem funny if its manufacturing affiliates.

The U.S. has stricter rules on fillers and binders used than other countries. It may be the same company, but that does not mean that produce the med in the same way. Many companies make the same sort of thing. Take an example retail. For several years I worked for Motherhood Maternity. The parent company itself and Mimi a pea in a pod.
