Even with books that I am impressed by an overwhelming majority, I seek "holes" in the field of books … if only as an exercise in intellectual acumen and critical thinking.

Always make sure you are being fair to the author and the display of intellectual honesty by using this tactic. Do not throw anything is acceptable to have a bone "to pick up" with the author.
