Testosterone deficiency is responsible for some of the most common problems of aging men (and women) face. These problems include a reduction Unfortunately, both in muscle mass and strength, increased fat, and a problem of loss of sexual desire.

Other symptoms can include fatigue and, perhaps worst of all, testosterone deficiency may even lead to a dark depression.

In fact, the deficiency of the hormone testosterone has become so common that in 2003, 2.2 million testosterone prescriptions were filled by pharmacists.

Why were these recipes?

Good, to begin, many in the medical community and accept that once ignored condition called andropause, which is sometimes commonly known as male menopause.

Low testosterone is associated with andropause and the shortage of this hormone, once abundant in men is believed that the main culprits symptoms of male menopause.

Andropause Testosterone deficiency may be one reason for the prescription of testosterone is a man full of your doctor.

Although there are natural ways to increase testosterone that can be very effective, the use of testosterone is prescribed a higher dose of the hormone faster, giving greater opportunity to break the funk that testosterone deficiency can cause.

Unfortunately, along with great benefits of prescription of testosterone – ranging from increased energy, improved sexual desire and enhance your mood – there are also several drawbacks.

The main disadvantage is security. Many doctors hesitate to prescribe testosterone, and rightly so.

There have been no conclusive studies about what a prolonged boost of testosterone can do to the body. This is a powerful hormone, after all, and when you are taking prescription dose, which are, in effect, the increase in your body artificially.

That's why a doctor will ensure that you really need a prescription for it.

If you are suffering only from the slow decline of testosterone in the aging process, your best (and safe) to raise the bet is that of food First we eat and natural herbs.

It is therefore imperative that we look at the various causes of testosterone deficiency, because many of the causes can be remedied with relative ease – - and without the dangers and cost of prescription testosterone.

There are three main areas to consider.

The main area, known as the principal testosterone deficiency is, of course, the testicles. They are followed by the pituitary gland, and then the hypothalamus.

What this means is that any damage to the aforementioned areas could cause a decrease in testosterone levels. While this type of damage could be very simple – such as suffering a blow to the testicles – the damage can be more serious – such as testicular cancer, or even the outright elimination of the testicles.

However, the most common cases of a drop in testosterone level is induced aging. Doctors have estimated that men in their thirties years, they begin to lose about 2% of total testosterone per year.

At a rate like this, no wonder 20% of men over 60 years is believed to have a testosterone deficiency.

With all these new signs of testosterone deficiency, it appears that the average consumer is increasingly willing to resort to prescription testosterone.

Case and point – as mentioned, 2.2 million testosterone prescriptions were in 2003. Three years earlier, was only 800 000. That means that within three years cases of prescription of testosterone jumped almost threefold.

Many people are turning to testosterone in the treatment of prescription unwanted side effects of testosterone deficiency, but you should always consult your physician and carefully discuss the potential side effects of each type of Testosterone replacement therapy to see if it's right for you.
