Shawn Collins: Thank oneNetworkDirect Todd Crawford. He is the Vice President of Sales and Business Development. And last night, won the Legend Award Affiliate marketing, the Wayne Porter Affiliate Marketing Legend Award, and congratulations for that, Todd.

Todd Crawford Thank you. It's a real honor. I was very, very pleased to have been nominated and won.

Rogue Lisa: So, I guess now we'll find out what happens behind the legend. What makes a legend? So, maybe you can start telling us how you got into this for people who do not know.

Todd: Well most people probably know better than me from my days at Commission Junction. I started in '98 with that company in Minneapolis. Most part of what he was doing was for sale. Therefore, it was selling to traders.

And I really did not have to deal directly with the membership. But because to such an important part of the business, I was interacting with them in forums and events. So, I have kind of a name for myself.

I guess eventually became a kind of being seen as the face of Commission Junction. I think that's probably what I'm best known.

Shawn: How much time was that which began in Commission Junction?

Todd: 98 until March 2006. I kind of reached a turning point in my life and I felt like I was never going to leave or he would have to leave. So I decided to go out and take a little break. And now I'm at Digital River.

Lisa: Then, tell what you're doing at Digital River, what are their responsibilities.

Todd: Well, Digital River is a company leader in global electronic commerce outsourcing company. So basically provide the infrastructure for electronic commerce to large software publishers size to write software like Symantec, and also provide marketing services.

Therefore, oneNetworkDirect is the affiliate marketing service for our customers. Therefore, our network is based on software publishers, and really does not sell anything more than that.

Shawn: For the show here at the Affiliate Summit, do you have any new news for this company. I know you have the new name.

Todd: Yes, were oneNetwork. We did not own that domain, and we were in a subdomain of Digital River. So finally our own domain. We onenetworkdirect.com.

So we started back in that domain with a new website home page appearance. It's beautiful. Have done nothing of the work, but it is very, very turned large.

Interface also launched a new subsidiary, cleaned it, made it look more like the home page and it takes a little more continuity, and launched some new features, such as improved reporting and also includes reporting at the product level and then also a new product called Tracker trial.

And manager view, is the ability of affiliates to promote free trials of software that can download for free, obviously, and then you have to embed the affiliate ID in it. Therefore, do not need a "cookie" to track more later. And so if the consumer wants it on your desktop, if the consumer buys the software each time, the affiliate is the only one who can be credited with it.

So just launch the technology and we are getting our offer for the first time since the Web home this week, in fact, in the center of a handful of chain letters e we are trying to get it.

Shawn: Do you have any idea of what will be the future of affiliate marketing?

Todd: Well, you know quite interesting when viewed from '98 '99 '00, is so radically different. Me love the industry because it is constantly evolving.

I that members are known as innovators out there, and that's what keeps their progress. I do not know if I could predict anything specific, but it will be exciting to watch.

Lisa: Is there a particular area that is focusing in oneNetworkDirect?

Todd: Well, because we only work with our own customers, our focus is really great at the affiliate of the company. In my previous job I went out and sold to traders. No I have to do that. Actually it is the development of members. That's what all ours, Indeed, team does.

So it's great to worry about the commercial side of business, and really just focus on recruiting and developing relations, giving them the tools they want.

We are launching more Web services and the latest product features that published.

Shawn: Well great – thanks a lot, Todd, and congratulations on your award.

Todd: Thank you.

Lisa: Thank you.

As for the incredible range of phones – branded and unbranded – I think people are missing a key part of the phone business.

Each phone is a SIM card and some sort of agreement with a network provider, either a top-up contract or agreement. If I told you there was not much money in the affiliate industry, Would you be tempted in the sim-marketing packages only for larger network providers?

Each network has partnered with a subsidiary (the majority with Buy.at – T-Mobile, Orange, O2), which are paid commissions on every new connection. Depending on the products sold, the commissions can roll around 40-80 EUR for contracts of most of the new.

The commissions are much higher in the contracts – and network providers advertise these widely. How often ads you see the simplicity of the rates of O2? You can take this massive range of online and offline marketing to your advantage.

Now If you simply put an option during the purchasing process, where each visitor had to search on a flag to say, 4 FREE O2 SIMS in or get a banner automatically updates with the latest deals right before / after purchase (when they are happy .. credit card) you have in front of you, your target audience in a state that is willing to buy.

There are many applications of this – can create their own packages (see terms and conditions though), massively subsidize the cost of the phone, use the Commission to provide incentives (subject to T & Cs apply) and generally have a creative marketing unbranded phones.

Remember, some of these phones Unbranded come with dual SIM capabilities that easily could lead to SIM FREE promotions offered by the supplier, literally, any network. Promoting the advantages of a two networks – not in a way a little SalesYear, but as a recommendation – "Why not try it for free?"

Business Partners Applications may take several days, and then you need to apply for each program separately. They review your site and then get approved. You can literally copy and paste JavaScript or HTML code on your page with banners appropriote / / text windows flash / etc

With affiliate marketing, you are trying to create a WIN-WIN-WIN situation. The visitor / buyer benefits and achieves its goal – you have made me happy. The network provider has a new client, which will £ X in their products. It benefits from the additional income with little more effort – in fact, is likely to improve your site's value to visitors and that is providing a useful solution for them.

Not sure about some of these exchanges, "the phone in cash" if the companies that offer affiliate / Referral programs, but you could always Google it. Trying to offer different services to their customers and improve the services it provides is only a good thing — especially when it comes to making money!

With this in mind, here is a list of each network provider and an affiliate appropriote:

Vodafone
Partners with affiliates Window

€ 5 entry fee required AW

O2
Partners with Buy.at

T-Mobile
Also Buy.at

Orange
Also Buy.at

3 (three)
Buy.at (+ 3 Mobile Affilaite – run by themselves)

Virgin Mobile (membership scheme Virgin Media independent at present)

I hope to write more articles on the use of affiliated systems to increase revenue – what state tuned!

TreasureTrooper is similar to CashCrate in many ways. This is a PTO (paid for completing offers) and the site is one of the affiliate programs that have offered much more available to U.S. / Canada residents. The offerings are still available in other countries, but they are few and far between. (I live in the UK and have experienced first hand).

Now I will explain why TreasureTrooper not only useless to the residents but also annoying non-USA/Canada and frustrating.

I am sure that 2000 offers are available for U.S. / Canada, but residents for the rest of us most of them are not. What TreasureTrooper makes so frustrating is that only to find an offer is "not available in your area" after clicking on the link to the offer. With a list of offerings 100s long with 90% of them are not available this can get very frustrating. To add insult to injury, not all available offers are marked as unavailable, even after clicking on them.

For example, you can start bidding and get part way down and find a way to enter your "zip code and the State "(in the UK there are no such things). It then becomes obvious this offer is not available either for you and you have been wasting time.

On the positive side

1. TreasureTrooper has 2000 offers available to U.S. / Canadian residents.

2. TreasureTrooper has an affiliate program mediocre (I could not put one thing on the bright site could?!). You earn 20% of their commissions direct referrals and 5% of your referrals earnings. Compared with CashCrate this is a bad deal, but better than some of the other affiliate programs PTO there.

Conclusion – 'scam or not? "

I can say with a fairly high level of confidence that is not a scam TreasureTrooper Internet. This does not mean that we recommend joining. In fact, I would advise residents non-USA/Canada steer away from, but the rest of you can earn a decent amount. CashCrate, however, has a high paying affiliate program with better rates of pay, about what is on my list of "sites" and TreasureTrooper not.
