I have no doubt that this article will cause much discussion. To be honest with you, both as it burns me when someone steals my products and sell them illegally, I'm really torn between going after these thieves and running my business. Ultimately, my main concern has to be put food on the table. So that's where This article comes in and asks the question is … the cost of fighting piracy worth it? Let's find the answer together.

Let's start with a fact of Internet Marketing … piracy is rampant. Just go to any site like Rapidshare and is more than its share of illegal downloading. And that is only the tip of the iceberg. Besides that, you have individual vendors products up their own web space and sales. Not a pretty picture.

Well, So what do we do? Well, for starters, is not only knowing about piracy, for starters. This can create a Google alert a few minutes for you know of sites that mention your name, product name, or anything that may be associated with you. The problem with this is that if you have a lot of things out there that can be legally adopted (as items) that will be going through a lot of alerts every day. Can still be done.

What it happens after you find all the offending sites? Well, if this is a site like Rapidshare, you can contact them, let them know that the product until it can legally share and for the most part very good considering the links below. But what about private websites, like Joe the grocery store? In this case, you have to first contact them personally, which usually do not receive a response. After going down that road, the next step is to contact your web hosting provider with a C & D.

Needless to say, all this takes time unless you are going to outsource tasks. And then, if that's the route you go, you're spending money on something which is a nonstop, never-ending battle. While there are people out there will always be those who steal their products. Never completely put an end to it.

So ultimately the question I'm asking is simple. Is it worth the time and cost to do this? How many sales have you saved? Most people who illegally downloaded products do not use them anyway. So if they had no way to buy, would not have bought from you anyway. So what lost?

On the other hand, has just launched his arms into the air and saying, "Good" is to let them win. And it's not being responsible at all. That ie approving the conduct or do not care enough to do something about it.

Is there a middle? Can you perhaps spend only a small period of time each day to combat this problem? If you do that, you're doing to actually make a difference or is it just to avoid a bad conscience to do nothing?
