Is it absolutely necessary to put itunes music on my iPod nano from Apple?

I had an old iPod, apple, and I was alone in Windows Media player and "sync" my Mp3's to it. SO EASY! But with the new iPod nano, when I do, the old iPod files still appear in "mobile devices." So I have itunes just do this simple thing? I wonder if I should return this ipod and get another that is not affiliated Apple so you can use on my windows pc?

I have itunes you do not need an iPod nano and I use a program called winamp and help me a lot because my computer will not let me install the only use limewire or itunes MP3Rocket to download music and use Winamp to add to your iPod just go to http://www.winamp.com/player/free-download-full?lang=en-us to download winamp and also tell how uu can add songs to your ipod hope this helps

I have told so many lies of Direct TV and I feel very upset about that! For example, I promised to East / West Coast feeds of all the regular stations (ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX). Then I learned that two of the stations turned down my request to get b / c that interfered with their local affiliates and do not want me to be able to leave the local station. Above all stations agreed with me feed, I am now charged $ 3.50 each month just to have them! The cost of this service increases every month! Any suggestions??

I tried to download from iTunes on my PC (Windows XP), but the file said it was downloading, it would take 16 hours to download.
