Are selling big ticket items in a declining economy a thing of the past? If you continue to position their products to attract their customers then the economy is not really a factor. If you are the promotion of luxury goods in a shrinking economy then it is time to start thinking outside of the box. Find people who benefit from the current economy and position himself in front of them.
People who are true entrepreneurs will an opportunity or investment and think, "What is my return on my investment" and not "how much money is this going to cost me." Of course, seeing what happens in a shrinking economy is very intelligent, but if you are starting a business and want to make a good income the smartest move is to invest in a compensation plan that will bring the best return on your investment.
So how to promote their opportunity if it is a high input element? By attracting people who are already searching for what you have to offer. The fact that the economy is slowing, does not mean your product has less value. As she once said John Reese, "Money does not evaporate in the air, is a mere change of hands".
No matter what product they are promoting price, there is still a learning curve in acquiring the knowledge to market their merchandise. You still have to spend the same amount of time to learn new skills and applying the same techniques to market their target audience. What do you prefer to receive commission at the end of the day after putting in work so hard? A small committee or a committee of high?
The end result is what business will you build? One where people enter on your computer have the same kind of drive and ambition as you or one where people are not eager to do the hard work because they are not seeing the results so huge? Sale large items in a shrinking economy is definitely possible. Ask any successful person is already taking its promotion.
