I was interested in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Penn Foster!?
I read that the accreditation page and saw that claim to be members or affiliates with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, American Society for Engineering Education, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and SAE (Society Engineering for the Promotion of mobility – land, sea, air and space). Does this have a bachelor's degree is valid and worthy of investing in a good career? Is there someone there to use those programs, helped him how you imagined?
I'm a Civil Engineer and has worked with and gone to school with several engineering technicians, here's my take on this general area of study. You will not be considered or employed as an engineer. Not be allowed to register as a professional engineer and therefore will not enter into projects in which registration is necessary. What you should consider before starting this course of study is to determine exactly what type of work which could be employed doing and decide if that is what we do. If so, pursue the degree knowing that it is very limited in scope. Most areas of technology certification are offered in specific lines of work.
