How news networks get their news reporting?

I know that local news stations will probably use a scanner police, when news of a policeman / / type of issue emergency fire appears. What other news? What's amusing news out there, or news so peculiar? Make some news networks copy the other news networks, which violate the first story? As I saw on ABC News a few weeks ago the story of the girl in Florida, which maintains the hiccups again and again. Now, ABC News has just published a story of another girl who can not stop sneezing. Good, today, a local CBS affiliate talked so much about the girl who was constantly hiccup, and the child she was constantly sneezing. Can the Internet is the source of such outside the wall of news, and news networks, whether local or international, to receive news from there? Is it safe to assume that the big three (NBC, ABC, CBS) are more or less the same information, along with FOX and CNN?

If you watch MSNBC in the morning during the program IMUS 5:30-9 MF EST, you will see many times when the camera gives literally tons of people on computers, phones, and the control center. The are constantly working to try to find the latest news. The Internet has been a great source, especially for the program above. Police, Fire, EMS is another great way. Many times when you are watching MSNBC, or watch the breaking news of a local subsidiary. They go to a major fire, Amber Alert, police chase view of the helicopter, etc … Most mothers stations like MSNBC, FOX, CNN have NBC, ABC, CBS, etc. Monitoring and Information affiliated to a mother station … I hope this sheds some light .. Ohhh do not forget the Associated Press wire well known as the AP …
