Rotary Club and other organizations

One Rotary Club, the morning Rotary Club Westlake Time comes in every year to help children born with twisted feet and help so they can walk. Rotarians have made great efforts to help children of Honduras who are in desperate need, as the Hondurans make a foot lot in their daily lives, unable to walk an individual is, literally, powerless. The Rotary Club has a large presence in Honduras and has the support of the entire Western Hemisphere.

Several other groups, including engineers without Borders have come to Honduras to help build the infrastructure and are planning construction projects such as sewage treatment facilities, schools and bridges. There are some issues involved in getting help to these countries for engineers. A volunteer tells of an argument with a group of Engineers Without Borders;

"I met at the level of a group going to build churches in Guatemala. The man said he had a lot of problems at customs and security with its drills and saws, etc. "

There are also teams of vets who come for special missions to meet animals in rural Honduras, as the family animals provide milk, eggs, animal food and energy is necessary, since most are too poor to afford cars, trucks or tractors and often no place for fuel and parts, although they did have those things. Many more veterans are needed for important missions.

What kind of animals do not have in rural Honduras? Almost every type you can think of really. For example, a team of veterinarians from Texas has had great success and since have been many around the report that livestock losses are almost nil because of the great care. They tend to be more of 4600 animals and various other animals such as oxen, horses, donkeys, dogs, cats, pigs, goats, sheep, a variety of birds and an occasional raccoon.

UNICEF and the U.S. HELP

UNICEF, part of the United Nations has been instrumental in helping to raise funds for aid and see where the money goes to help children poor. One of the biggest problems is that children are often malnourished because families can not afford to get the food they need. UNICEF has been active in Central America with the objective of helping children. It appears that UNICEF is working to ensure funding for assistance in Honduras help children there, href = "http://www.unicef.org/infobycountry/honduras.html"> http://www.unicef.org/infobycountry/honduras.html

Fortunately, USAID has made a Herculean effort in Honduras and is making a big difference in the quality of life there. One of the main components of USAID's work is to strengthen the rule of law to prevent crime and ensure accountability and transparency in government affairs. Over the past 40 years, USAID has provided $ 2 million in economic assistance to Honduras. The many objectives of the USAID to support Honduras have been unclear.

USAID has worked to help Honduras to diversify their agricultural production and expanding exports to help the economy and create jobs. USAID also has initiatives to help small businesses through micro-loans. USAID has to do with health conditions and has become a target of increasing access to health services. An important aspect has been the training and education to help break the cycle of poverty in Honduras. USAID is very concerned about helping Hondurans in having a democratic government.

USAID also has included such goals as maintaining a sustainable environment and improving the food security. USAID, along with 16 other donor countries providing assistance following the devastation caused by Hurricane Mitch in 1998. His last plan that extends to The year 2008 has a strong set goals to help Honduras and its people to a better life and ongoing economic vitality.

Organizations religious

Many believe that the burden of care to the rural poor in Honduras comes from religious organizations and their self-less acts of kindness, although some groups not religious, they are very impressive in its own right. A religious group of volunteers affiliated physicians stated that mission;

"Often, people recognize that they like so much they're going to walk to the other clinic scheduled for tomorrow and bring to a parent or nieces. Most people are convinced that we Catholics, as in our group. "

Even with all these other aid groups are philanthropists who are responsible for bringing together other organizations to help where additional help is needed, often filling the gaps. The efforts in Honduras are addressing the challenges and make a difference. In fact, more and more groups are working together to achieve a better coverage and avoid duplication of effort and this is helping a lot.

There is some friendly rivalry between some organizations to see which group can help most people. Maybe some team spirit among the volunteers is good. The course aims at helping the poor rural children in Honduras and they need to survive and improve their quality of life and education and help themselves. This will break the cycle of poverty.

With many groups with different approaches and niches to exploit the experience and talent in the groups of the quality of aid is in Honduras is amazing. It's amazing to hear all the real people who really care and how much they are achieving. Even more incredible is the progress made in one patient at a time, one village at a time and a child at a time. If you find enough time on his hands to make the trip to Honduras as a volunteer you will be glad you did. If you have a little extra money to donate, I can not think of a better cause.
