How do I create an affiliate website?

I have to throw your money away for college, no one in my city is hiring, and I have an account bank, credit card, so I want to make money on the net, but so far has been nothing but waste of time, fraud, and a ton of spam in my mailbox e-mail. I want to know how to actually make money from the network without spending any of my own (at first). I must first know the true source of the page the site in regard to the economy and the writing, so someone actually click the link to buy something. Secondly, how can I make people even to my site in the first place? I know that the network is very large, and somewhere out there I know there's a way to get useful information for free. I need help from people who are already making money on the net, and not from the sale of some "Guru Secrets Revealed" eBook scam (unless you tell me how to write one and sell it). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
