(Environment and Religion) Since many religions are waiting for the final "time" to occur, what effect does this have?

Many persons affiliated with a religion expect a final terrible time to occur, some even want that to happen. The signs of global warming and our contribution what is happening to our environment are hard to ignore the other. Since many religious people expect this end time to occur and not wait for the life here on earth to last as long as individuals nonreligous, do you think they are doing there best to assist in environmental safety practices to maintain our environment for future generations to enjoy?

As a Christian, I believe the end times come, but I do not know when. Would a fool not to try to keep the environment for future generations if they do not know how many generations will remain on earth. I also believe that God has commanded care for creation, so I'll try to do so.
