I am creating a blog and need advice on how to become a member of sites to promote products. Council?

I have an idea to promote typical products I found at several sites, particularly on the types of online and catalog businesses. How do I contact with executives to become an Affiliate or distributor? I have also been advised to go to the dealer, because there is a higher profit margin, but I do not have hands or the provision of the liability problems. Any advice from some professionals out there? Edie B.
